Mechanics Unit 1: Intro to the modeling classroom

In the first unit, students are introduced to the practices and procedures of the class:

  1. creating a lab
  2. conducting the lab
  3. analyzing their data
  4. sharing their data with the class (in a whiteboard meeting)
  5. discussing the data, focusing on looking for similarities, then differences (in the whiteboard meeting
  6. developing class-wide conclusions, and modifying individual/group conclusions
