A day off, a forest, and a hike with Carrie

Lee & CarrieWell, it’s late and I’m whooped, so I’m not going to write much now. I’ll probably add more tomorrow while I’d doing laundry.

Today Carrie and I met “half way” in the Uwharrie National Forest. Carrie’s living in Carrboro (the “Berkeley of NC” Carrie says), and telecommuting to her job. She’s working in Human Relations for a large tech company, and the HR people in her position do interviews with folks that are never face to face, so many of her compatriots work from home. She decided a year or so ago that she would finally make the move out of CA and to NC (her NC sister is now 3/4 mile away from her). We had a great hike through the forest.

It seems Carrie and I have similar end of relationship stories (although she did her break up about a year ago). Although the details are different, both of us ended a relationship on amicable terms, and are still good friends with our exes. On our hike we had a great talk about life in CA, break ups, life outside CA, work, and more.

With that teaser, its time for bed. More tomorrow.
